Albuquerque Club Joins USAC'S .25 Midget Family

The Roadrunner Quarter Midget Association of Albuquerque, New Mexico is USAC's newest member of its family of Mopar .25 Midget clubs.

The club competes at Sandia Motorsports Park, a multi-use motorsports facility located at 100 Speedway Blvd. SW, southwest of Albuquerque. The 86-acre park includes two paved ovals (1/2 mile and 1/4 mile), a 1.7-mile road course that can also be used in a 1.1-mile configuration and a Motocross track in addition to the paved quarter midget oval.

"We are ecstatic about adding the Roadrunner Club to our growing list of quarter midget clubs," says USAC Developmental Racing Director James Spink. "The Albuquerque area has produced many USAC racing stars, including three Indianapolis 500 winners with a total of nine victories and we anticipate some spectacular competition for club championships."

The club was well represented in USAC's 2010 operations with some members competing at Orange Show, Disney, the Battle at the Brickyard, Columbus and Eldora.
