I agree with the intent of this proposal, but I think that there may be
some problems with implementation:

1. After the finish of the race, the head scorer must verify the finish
with the all the scorers. If there is a disagreement, the finish recorded
by the majority of the scorers will be used. Included with this
procedure, lapped cars must be verified. For this reason, it may take
longer than the victory lap to certify the race finish.

2. I know of some tracks that, because of neighborhood problems, are
not able to use the PA system after a certain time. Believe it or not,
the announcer's voice over the PA carries further than the sound of
the cars racing! This would prevent announcement of the finish.

Suggestion:

Official finishing order of the entire field will be announced or posted
within 15 minutes of the conclusion of the race.
