: I don't agree with changing the weights. The Honda division works very well with the current weights. If you lower the weight in each Honda class, you will start impacting the heavier kids in the class. Math: 160 (car) + 10 (gear) + 65 (driver) = 235 lbs. Therefore, if your driver is less than 65 lbs, GREAT!
: The weight makes everyone equal. In fact, if you have to add weight, you get to put it where it works the best.

: I agree with Tom, Honda classes work well and are the most competitive classes to race in. Lowering the weights will force a lot of older, larger kids out of this sport. We race heavy Honda at our track, the weights of these kids vary between 150, up to 200 pounds. All of us are already over the 325 pound weight, if you reduce this to 300 pounds you will loss many kids that are 13+ years old because it will no longer be fun since they will not be competitive. I think we need to keep the current weights to allow for growth, otherwise this is going to become a sport for juniors only. Stop for minute and think of the growth rate that occurs at 11 - 12 years old, then think of your child in that respect, you will probably hear the ones wanting lower weights now, will be among the first to want them raised.
