John,

Actually ourselves and a lot of other people have just the opposite problem.
My son weighs 48 lbs. and turns nine on Friday. The car, a GT American,
with Honda engine and ready to race weighs 158 lbs. We have to add 79 lbs.
to make class. That turns out to be a difficult task. Actually I'd like to
see the weighs standardized. If your son or our son was running Sr. Stock,
the car would only need to weigh 260 lbs. I don't understand why Honda's
have to weigh 25 lbs. more than a Stock.

Just wondering Brian, where do you practice? Is your club track finished?
Many of you on this list ASSUME that people can go out and practice every
day. I am referring to one brilliant statement recently made on this list,
"where would I get the time to post to this list if I was out
practicing!",or something to that effect.I was once a member of the Topeka
club. I know that you can go practice any time you want, that's great!
I now live in N.J. and you cannot just go to the track and practice. You
have to have a EMT and emergency vehicle positioned at the trackany time
there is a car on the track. You cannot go drive in an open parking lot, you
would be fined or ticketed, even if it is private property, without the
approval and close scrutiny of the State Police.
Besides it's really hard to get out when I am busy cuddling my Honda!

The extra weight in Honda keeps the overall speed down.
They (QMA) didn't want Honda's out-preforming Deco's
on a weight per weight basis.
