The turnout for the 2003 Silver State WinterNationals was UN BELIEVABLE! Final numbers show 446 cars. That is the largest NON-Grands event ever held! Thursday saw participants pill draw. Because of car count there was no qualifying. Racing began on Friday. The format was changed to a no warm-up - line-up in the hot chute type. Cars were then pushed off already lined up ready to race. Mike Spatafore was throwing the green flag and the races began. The Madera Good Times Club should be commended on a great race! Jule Gerehardt was the Pit Steward and the Race Director Duties were handled by rotating Good Times Members. Heats were run on Friday and then inverted from the Friday Heats - Saturday Heats. Racing ran until 11:00 p.m. On Sunday morning the Junior Classes were run along with all the 'B Mains and then the A' Main Events. AnaLisa England said that the races ran very well even with the huge car count. "We had line-ups ready because of the hard work of Shelly Amerjan. She worked hard all weekend entering information so the tower never had to do anything but score."

"Sunday racing was complete by 5:00 and the entire track tear down was finished by 7:00," said England. All of the heat race winners were awarded with blue ribbons and Savings Bonds were awarded to the 1 - 4th place finishers of the 'A Mains. The parking lot was jam packed at the Buffalo Bills Resort in Primm, Nevada. The kids enjoyed arcades, roller coasters, and log rides after the racing and the parents got to socialize, get together with friends for dinner and gamble making a this one of the funnest events on the West Coast. Watch for details for 2004! This event is a fund raiser for the Madera Good Times Club located in Madera, California. The Quarter Midget facility is located on the grounds of the Madera Speedway.

Results will be posted soon.
