Each participant needs their QMA driver card adn verfication of age.
1. Sign in number goes on the left side of the car.
2. A handler having two or more cars in the same class will be assured that cars will be placed in different sessions for practice, if it is noted at sign-in and the tower is notified.
3. Sign-ins close at 7:00 pm on Monday evening. No exceptions will be allowed.
4. Pre-registered cars must be in attendance one hour before qualifying begins.
All drivers must be signed in, safety inspected AND PRESENT with their car to receive their Qualifying Number. All participants assigned a number for practice and qualifying (sign-in number) must maintain that number with the car until qualifying is completed. Color of number identifies class and division.
Qualifying will consist of up to 10 laps warm-up, then the next three laps will be "on the clock." The Handler can elect to start the three-lap clock any time during these 10 warm-up laps, by notifying the flagman.
If a car begins its 10 warm up laps during qualifying, and is incapacitated (hits the wall, blows the motor, loses the chain, etc.) before they are able to post at least one qualifying time, then they will receive NO TIME.
If a car goes DOT before completing one timing lap, he may be restarted and allowed to complete it's first lap. This will be the only time allowed.
Handlers are NOT allowed on the track during qualifying. If the handler wants the driver on the clock in fewer than the 10 maximum warm up laps, they must notify the flagman. The handler will be allowed to stand next to the flagman, but not on the track.
Handler is only allowed on the track to turn the gas on if necessary - no working on the car is allowed.
If the car spins during warm up, the handler may enter the track to restart the car, but warm up laps will continue at the point of spin out; the count will not start over.
In the event of stoppage during timing of a division due to weather, curfew or other emergency and can not be resumed on the same day, the entire division must be re-timed when timing resumes.
Work approval sheets must be obtained from the Tech Director or the Technical Committee to approve any work done on any engine. This form must be dated and time noted and turned in to the tower.
All cars and drivers will be weighed. If weight is not correct, your times will be scratched and you will receive a NO TIME.
Drivers must be weighed without shoes or drivers equipment after qualifying. Normal street attire must be worn. Drivers must have suitable clothing under driver suit, as it will be taken off for weighing.
No pouring of water over driver will be allowed.
Equipment and shoes will be included in total weight (car and driver combined). At the end of each race, driver and car must still meet minimum weight.
You have ONE HOUR after qualification to scratch a car. After one hour, the line ups for races will be set up. A NO TIME will start in the last available position in the last available feature race.
If a car or engine is found illegal after a feature race, the next eligible car will be transfered.
The 5th/6th place finisher from the B feature is the only alternate. If for some reason a car is not able to start the A Main, the 5th/6th place car from the B feature will be waiting in the chute area and would move to the 10th spot. This area for the alternate will be clearly marked for all officials and participants.
If the judges determine that the tail cone or other safety items were knocked off by another car, the race is to be red flagged and that item will be allowed to be re-installed. Work is to be done on the track. That car can resume the race in the position that it was running on the last recorded lap. This procedure does not apply if the call is made against the car losing the parts.
No working on any car involved in an accident while a child is being attended to by Medical Personnel, until the child is released by Medical Personnel.
Once the checkered flag is out it stands as a completed race. A race is NEVER re-run.
